It’s well known that INEOS, the new Man Utd ownership, were actively approaching different managers and open to changing the position at Old Trafford in the summer, but eventually decided to stick with the Dutchman.
After winning the FA Cup, it could be argued that the owners were left with no choice, especially with fans happy to give him a chance. However, the 8th placed finish last year doesn’t look like improving so far this season, and at a club as big as Manchester United, it would be unacceptable for results to continue in the fashion in which they have started.
But if he was to leave, there is the predicament of who would take over the Red Devils. As mentioned, INEOS looked and were seemingly unable to find a better replacement, so who is most likely to be the next man in charge with the bookies?

Next Manchester United Manager Odds
There is a mix of experience and inexperience atop the market to be next Manchester United manager, with the names included not being overly convincing for the fans.
One name sticks out without doubt and that is Thomas Tuchel, while Mauricio Pochettino, who was strongly linked to Manchester United after his spell with Tottenham, is also one of the favourites. Under new ownership, it’s unknown whether they will be as interested in the Argentinian as the former Man Utd owners seemingly were.
Other names included are former United striker and current coach at the club Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who resigned as manager at PSV at the end of the 2022/23 season citing a lack of support, even after winning the KNVB Cup.
While the main favourite, and somebody INEOS are clear admirers of is recent England manager Gareth Southgate, a boss that it’s highly doubtful the fans would be pleased with if he were to be appointed.
