This article will tell you all about when Raducanu is playing next in 2024, how to watch her in her next match, and more.

When is Emma Raducanu’s Next Match?

Following her defeat to Paula Badosa in the WTA Citi Open, Emma Raducanu's next match has been unknown with her out of action and not picked for a wildcard at the Canadian Open.

But with the US Open now on the horizon, her first opponent has been decided. Raducanu will face American Sofia Kenin on Tuesday, 27th August at approximately 23:00 BST in what will be a tough first round match for the former US Open champion.

It was a more positive tournament recently for Raducanu in Washington, and will give her encouragement for the US Open as she attempts to re-establish herself as one of the world's best players again like she did in 2021. She will be somewhat disappointed she was unable to beat Badosa after taking the first set back at the Washington Open a few weeks ago, but she will certainly take some positives from the tournament for the upcoming major.

The potential games that could be coming for Raducanu include the Canadian Open, a WTA 1000 tournament, which begins on Wednesday, 7th August, while the week before the US Open is the Cincinnati Open.

She is rather likely to take part in at least one of these events, if not both, as she tries to guarantee her place at the US Open without a wildcard. As it stands, Raducanu is placed inside the top 100 and will be at the US Open, but she may need a couple of more wins to secure her place and not need to rely on a wildcard, which would most probably be given to her if she was unable to make it in via world ranking.

Emma Raducanu in 2024 So Far

It has been a much more positive year in 2024 so far for Raducanu, who has struggled with injures ever since she won the US Open in 2021. It hasn't been anything like the form she had in 2021 with that amazing run at Wimbledon at such a young age, and the even more incredible win as a qualifier at the US Open.

But, seeing as she has had her struggles since that win, it has been a big improvement this year to see her play much better, especially since April in the lead up to grass court season and Wimbledon.

Since April, and notably since Stuttgart, she has had two quarter finals, a semi final, and finally a run to the fourth round at Wimbledon, when she was surprisingly beaten by Lulu Sun.

Seeing as she is a previous winner at the US Open, and with women's tennis seemingly wide open at the minute with Barbora Krejcikova winning at Wimbledon and Aryna Sabalenka nursing some injuries currently, Raducanu will believe in her chances of going far and potentially making it a repeat of 2021.

Emma Raducanu US Open

It has now been announced that Raducanu's US Open campaign will begin against home native Kenin, who is ranked 55th in the WTA rankings, and once reached as high as fifth in March 2020. But despite her being an undoubted talent, Raducanu could arguably be facing the American at the best point, with her having a tough year so far in 2024.

For Raducanu at the US Open, she will have nothing but positive memories dating back to 2021 when she spectacularly took home the title against all the odds in her first time in the major in the states, and one of only her first few appearances at a grand slam in general.

The only issue for Raducanu is that she has struggled to replicate that form since with injuries hampering her career, mixed in with some admittedly bad play since 2021.

If injuries are behind the Englishwoman, she will be looking forward to testing herself against the world's best at the US Open, starting off with Kenin in the first round of the tournament.
